The Big Shed

Meet our latest ‘member of the month’ for the Perth & Kinross Social Enterprise Group, facilitated by GrowBiz.

The Big Shed is a community building in Highland Perthshire.  Located in an idyllic spot overlooking the beautiful Loch Tay and adjacent to Ben Lawers National Nature Reserve, you will find a sandy loch side beach, natural woodlands and mountains all rich in flora, fauna and archaeological heritage. It is owned and run by Loch Tayside Community Interest Company.

The Big Shed provides affordable work and meeting spaces for locals, community groups, social enterprises, small businesses and for private individuals.

The timber-framed eco-building was built using local, natural, renewable, reclaimed and recycled materials.  In 2013 it shared a top spot with the Scottish National Portrait Gallery as joint winner of the Low Carbon Building award.
