Low Level Background Music and Sound in Hospitality: On 12 December tourism and hospitality businesses became able to play background music again. However, this guidance should be used by all hospitality premises to ensure they have in place the necessary arrangements for the safe management of low level background sound.


VisitScotland #ScotlandLovesLocal Campaign: If you are a tourism business in Scotland and you have an existing offer or are running an initiative supporting local businesses that VisitScotland can help promote, you are invited to submit it here.


Birks Cinema Director of Development: The Birks Cinema in Aberfeldy are recruiting for a Director of Development, with a closing date of 15th December. The future development and marketing of The Birks into a versatile venue will be the key focus of this role. Find out more and apply here.


The RSA Annual Exhibition: After its successful re-introduction in 2019, the Open Art element will once again return as a vital component of this exhibition, showcasing work by artists at all stages of their careers alongside eminent Royal Scottish Academicians and invited artists. For a chance to be part of the 195th RSA Annual Exhibition submit your work here. Submission deadline: Wednesday 3 February at 5pm.


Catesbi CIC Survey: Catesbi CIC is transferring to a charity and, although will continue working with children and families using positive behaviour supports and learning through play, they are going to be focusing on children under the age of 8. They are looking for help with early market research via this survey.

The Endangered Landscapes Artist Residencies: The Endangered Landscapes Artist Residencies and Arts Prize is a new collaboration between two programmes at the Cambridge Conservation Initiative: the Arts, Science and Conservation Programme and the Endangered Landscapes Programme. It will open for expressions of interest on 7 January 2021, with a deadline of 23.59 GMT on 7 February 2021. Following a two-stage application process, eight artists, or collectives, will be selected to be in residence in the eight endangered landscapes currently receiving Project Implementation Grants, including Cairngorms Connect. The Alba Vital Scan Project: It’s a sad fact that one in five of Covid 19 patients are healthcare workers. Alba Medical Sciences are asking for help to raise funds for The Alba Vital Scan project which is designed to reduce the risk to NHS staff and offers a new methodology for use across the healthcare sector. The project will research and apply the latest mix of optical sensor technology to measure an individual’s vital signs without physical contact. Find out more here, or make a donation here.
